Virtual Answering Service

Virtual Answering Service :: A Traditional Definition

The Textbook Definition: A virtual answering service is where the owners own an "idea" of an answering service. There is no equipment to buy or lease and no space to rent. The bulk of the staff is compromised of off-site operators who work from home at terminals.

The software used to run the virtual answering service provides virtual DID numbers to the client. When these numbers are dialed, the numbers automatically get transferred to the off-site operators terminals who manage the calls. From the customers point of view, this virtual service operates the same way as the traditional answering service.

Virtual Answering Service

Specialty's Definition

Here at Specialty, we define the term Virtual Answering Service in quite a different way. We provide a service where your calls are routed directly to voicemail with the option of the caller to press a number to speak with a live operator (i.e. press 1 to speak with an operator).

Because there is no direct live operator support for this feature and the initial greeting is managed by an auto-attendant, we are able to provide this service at a lower rate than our regular service call plans. This feature is also ideal for companies who wish to screen their calls, reduce spikes in call volume due to telemarketers, and enjoy the luxury of a live answering service without paying a higher premium.

As with all of our call plans, you have the option to upgrade plans if you feel the virtual answering service does not suit your lifestyle. If you are new to the concept of utilizing an answering service, we recommend utilizing our virtual feature as an introduction into what a company like ours can do for your business.
